More Public Housing Residents Take Certificate Courses
Residents of the Roosevelt Residential complex in Mayagüez and staff members from the management agent CRACCO Enterprise, which oversees Area 11 of the Public Housing Administration (AVP), have completed training and are now certified as first responders after finishing the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) course. The importance of this training lies in its ability to prepare residents and management staff to address the needs of their community during emergencies or disasters while awaiting the arrival of central government agencies. The course was provided by state and municipal emergency management personnel, coordinated by Mr. Antonio Morales, Director of the Department of Housing’s Office of Emergency Management and its affiliated agency, the AVP, along with Emergency Management advisor Mr. Héctor Torres.
