Service centre for Region One soon

The government is currently identifying a suitable location to establish a service centre to bring essential government services closer to Region One residents.

Government service centres have already been established in some regions. The overall aim is to reduce the need for citizens to travel long distances to Georgetown or other areas to access basic government services.

During the recently aired ‘Energy Prospective’ podcast, Minister of Public Service, Government Efficiency and Implementation, Zulfikar Ally, said the initiative will also ensure citizens are treated with respect and dignity by reducing waiting times and uncertainty when accessing public services.

“And in Region One, we are currently identifying a spot there to get that done. So everyone, all across the island, will be able to have those services at their doorstep,” Minister Ally stated.

Minister Ally emphasised that the government’s approach is based on meeting citizens where they are and ensuring they can access the services they require within their respective regions.
